![]() Since fuel is filtered several times before it reaches the engine, contamination isn't an issue. ![]() There may be another issue with bleed off occurring so quickly - injector(s) leaking. Engine not running, bleed off may indicate a problem but isn't since pressures don't bleed off with the engine running. No bleed off during engine running, ignore bleed off. Bleed off pressures and when it occurs is relative. Remember, as long as pressures remains steady whether idling or revving, the fuel system is operating as designed. Service manuals do state some minutes pass before pressures bleed off. Fuel pressures are tightly regulated to be uniform across all temperatures and rpm variation under every anticipated load. Bleeding off pressures may or may not be important in general discussions as long as the engine starts up because bleeding off pressures is not an issue as long as you're seeing a regulated 60 psi no matter how much engine revving occurs. When you saw pressures immediately after turning on ignition, you saw all the engineering when 60 psi was displayed without delay. Fue lines ate also small diameter to allow near instantaneous pressure buildup from bleed off long after the engine's been shut down (an hour or more). A one way check valve is incorporated into the fuel line to maintain pressures for a certain amount of time for easier starting. With high pressures comes a regulated pressure system to prevent higher than normal pressures, relieving excessive excessive pressures to return to the tank. 60 psi is, if I'm not mistaken, correct and within the range of Vue fuel pressures. The higher the pressures the shorter the time needed to open injectors. The EFI systems on every vehicle needs fuel pressures so injectors can squirt fuel. Can you elaborate on 3-5 seconds of laboring before the engine starting up? Do you mean long starter use before the engine starts up? Did you replace spark plugs every 100k miles? Here's a can of worms since you're asking questions.
